Welcome to day #26 of the Intentionally Equitable Hospitality (IEH) series for May 2024! How are you doing today?
Daily Facilitation Tip: Plan, adapt and collect feedback
Today’s video is by Samantha Streamer Veneruso, where she talks about the mindset (rather than specific tips) she tries to take for intentionally equitable facilitation, whether online or in person. She talks about the importance of preparation and shares that planning for facilitation can often take 3-4 times as much time as the meeting duration itself, in fact she recommends giving preparation ample time. Her overall approach to planning is focused on balancing the purpose and the goals of the meeting with the needs and interests of the participants and building connection and community among them. Daily Activity: How do you collect feedback from participants?
We’d like to ask you to consider these questions for your reflection; how you usually collect feedback from participants? Has that been useful in giving you enough insight about how your sessions are going? Do you need to adjust or change the way you ask for and collect feedback? What do you do to intentionally incorporate the feedback you receive into your facilitation?
As always, please make sure to post your reflections on the SPLOT so we can all see and engage with them as well.
One More Thing…
