Welcome to day #24 of the Intentionally Equitable Hospitality (IEH) series for May 2024! We hope you’re having an awesome Friday.
Daily Facilitation Tip: Attentiveness of personal identity and how we show up
Today’s video is by Remi Kalir, where he talks about encouraging participants to share their personal pronouns and the ways they prefer to be addressed to ensure equitable inclusion and hospitality. He mentions how sharing with folks our own preference of how they could refer to us or address us (e.g. using our title or first name) to make them more comfortable in communicating with us the way we prefer. He also discusses how different contexts can change what we share or mention in the session(s) (e.g. jokes). Enjoy watching/listening!
Daily Optional Additional Material
By Remi: Annotate the syllabus (this is same for other workshops – we could ask participants to annotate the plan/agenda of workshops or sessions)
