Guest Facilitator or Speaker, Open Education and Digital Literacies

I’m a senior lecturer and Educational Technology Specialist in the Centre for Higher Education Research, Teaching and Learning (CHERTL) at Rhodes University in Makhanda, South Africa.  I an passionate about learning design and co-designing professional development opportunities for educators. I also supervise postgraduate students and co-teach on formal courses in Higher Education.

I earned my PhD from the University of Cape Town in 2013. I value contextual and culturally responsive approaches to learning design and educational technology usage and seek to expand critical perspectives on educational technologies in Higher Education. I have a strong interest in promoting inclusivity in the Educational Technology field. I have been part of the e/merge Africa team for several years, an online professional development network for educational technology researchers and practitioners in African higher education.

Why I’m in MYFest: I enjoy participating in and facilitating interactive online events and I love learning more from like-minded people across the globe – MYFest is an inspiring community:)

MYFest involvement: I’ll be facilitating the showcasing AI tools sessions where educators will be sharing AI tools they find useful with others.
