Lauren Butler is a senior learning designer and project coordinator in the Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching at the University of Cape Town. Lauren is deeply interested in educational spaces becoming inclusive and equitable, herself having bilateral cochlear implants and having experienced exclusion and othering. She is interested in seeing Universal Design for Learning applied to create teaching and learning experiences that welcoming, effective, and attuned to students’ needs.
