Dr. Bassem Elbendary has been a high school social studies teacher for the past decade.His experience spans between NYC and Cairo, where he has taught, supervised, and consulted in various traditional and non-traditional schooling systems. Most recently, he has co-founded a curriculum making and educational consultancy called The Curriculum Makers.

Dr. Elbendary earned his Ph.D. from the social studies education program at Teachers College, Columbia University, focusing on how collaboratively developed curricula can facilitate class awareness among Egypt’s privileged youth. He has trained teachers and developed implementable curricula for the past five years both in NYC and Cairo.

Currently, Bassem teaches both young people and educators while holding an executive role on the board of A-part and serving as a board member at The Land Developers.
