Daily Facilitation Tip: Structured Participation
Today’s video is by Sherri Spelic, where she talks about how as facilitators we should prepare workshops/learning spaces that we ourselves would be interested in attending, which would help us think about what it would be like to be in this workshop and thus come up with the best ways to engage our participants. She shares facilitation tips about structuring the audience’s participation and mentions structured dialogue as well. Enjoy watching/listening!

Daily Activity: Empowering/Disempowering Structures
Reflect on structures that empower or disempower certain groups. Or structures or experiences that naturally engage or disengage certain people, from your experience facilitating.
Even “liberating structures” meant to “liberate” may work for some groups and not others – explore a couple of them and reflect on who may be empowered or disempowered by such structures. As always, please make sure to post your reflections on the SPLOT so we can all see and engage with them as well.
