A simple, playful and mindful paper-sculpture session.
Learn how to process minor frustration and ground in the present moment through a combination of cathartic and creative processes.
NB. You will be invited to do at least part of this activity with eyes closed*
I will take you step by step through creating an abstract of flower based sculpture out of torn and scrupled paper while paying close attention to your senses of touch and hearing.
Neuro art is great for those with little or no experience of making art as well as being of value to those who do have experience as the focus is more on the process than on the completed work.
*Only if comfortable with this – the activity can also be done with eyes open. Please feel free to let me know if you have impairment of any other senses, or heightened sensory sensitivities and I will do my best to adapt the guiding instructions to suit your capabilities/preferences.
Essential materials:
- 4-6 sheets of A4 paper, any sort will do
- 2-3 pieces of stiff cardboard, approximately A4 size. From a cardboard box is fine
- Paper glue – a glue stick is probably easiest
Session duration: 90 minutes
