Old pond — frog jumped in — sound of water (Lafcadio Hearn’s translation of Basho’s famous “furu ike ya”). Haiku has become one of the world’s great poetic forms, and it is both a writing practice and a meditation practice. In this session, we’ll look at haiku as a mindful writing practice, along with other short-form poetry. We’ll write some poems together while thinking about ways in which this approach to mindful writing might become part of your teaching and/or learning. All ages welcome!
