In part one there will be a very short lecture on Polarization as a developmental stage, as well as small group sharing about our frustrations in the face of opposing viewpoints (naming our emotions activity). We’ll learn successful de-escalation techniques & techniques for finding common ground; then make an action plan to practice having a difficult conversation in a low-stakes situation. (The action plan is intended to lead to an asynchronous “self-development activity” which we will debrief in the Part Two workshop.)
