We spend a lot of time thinking about the cognitive aspects of education and relatively little time thinking about the emotional aspects. And yet, it is often how learning and teaching makes us feel that stays with us. Not only do these feelings stay in our memories but they also stay in our bodies. Body mapping can help us identify how we are feeling and who or what is involved. It can help us lean into what brings us joy or strength and move away from what brings us hurt or sadness. In this session you will be invited to draw an outline to represent your body, then to individually reflect on a series of questions and annotate your outline. You will then be invited to share as much or as little as you want to about the insights you gained from the activity, initially in small groups of two or three and then with the wider group. This session will not be recorded and a quiet room will be available for those who prefer to continue their individual reflections.
