This is now our 5th MYFest Readers Theater session! We invite readers of ALL AGES — young, old, and in-between —to join us in reading some short plays and learning how to create your own plays. The theme this year is THE RIDDLE OF JUSTICE: the plays will tell stories from around the world which use the power of ridding and other forms of paradoxical thinking to defy arbitrary authority and create a more just world.
No advance preparation is required! The scripts will be available to participants in advance of the performance at Scripts.LauraGibbs.net for anyone who wants a sneak peek, along with a bibliography of sources. During the session, there will be a quick overview of how readers theater works, and then we will read several short plays together. To end the session, there will be a quick look at some source books freely available at the Internet Archive, along with advice about writing your own plays to read together with students, family, and friends.
