Themes & Topics

This session will examine a few purpose built online tools designed to bring some liberatory practice(s) to life. Including a demo of a “troika” tool that can be used asynchronously, the session will explore the different ways we can build community and include liberatory practices when we might not be all together at the same time. There will be ample chances to have a play, have a think and come together and consider what it feels like to learn in community both at the same time and across different ones.

The session will explore a suite of asynchronous community building tools built to bring liberatory practices into online asynchronous spaces in accessible and inclusive ways. All participants will be invited to check out a blog post in advance, detailing the ways the tools or used or will also be able to rock up and check things out in real time during the session. There will be opportunities for interactive exploration of the tools (eg one designed for asynchronous troika sessions) as well as discussion about the ways liberatory practices and technology can create inclusive community spaces when participants are apart in “time” as well as space. Finally, there will be a chance to select a tool to try yourself at a later date, in your own practice.
