This session will bring together participants and a panel of current students from the University of Manchester Library Student Team (recognised in 2024 for their student/staff collaborative work with an Advance HE CATE award). We will all collectively consider where student agency fits in, or makes more complex, staff/student partnership. We will work from a position of practical joy and acknowledge both the delights and the conundrums of collective work in this space.
This session will combine interaction with a panel of current students and reflective activities to ask participants to:
1) consider how student/staff partnership might be “destroyed” in their context and where we might all be acting in these ways
2) work alongside the panel to tease out the practices that can reinforce and feed partnership
3) begin to reflect on how they might build more robust and equitable partnerships between staff and students.
Each of the activities will also be available asynchronously for anyone coming later to the session.
Session duration: 75 minutes
