Systems thinking focuses on looking at relationships and interconnections to identify why a system is behaving in specific ways and then move the system in desired directions. In the session, participants will use the iceberg model to unpack the social and cultural reasons behind events that they are interested in and then identify opportunities for change. Systems thinking is never something that should be done alone so we will use breakout rooms and the tool Mentimeter to support each other as we imagine ways to support ourselves, our colleagues, and/or our students in pushing systems towards equity and sustainability.
